Progressive Blue Candidate Fundraising Efforts - Be our 60th donor!

by: Laura Serena

Fri Oct 24, 2008 at 18:00:15 PM EDT

I just went over to our ActBlue fundraising page for our slate of candidates and our "No on CA Prop. 8" position.

So far, we've had 59 separate donations and we're approaching the $3,000 mark in terms of total donation amount.

Will you be our 60th donor?

Will you help us get up to $3,000 raised for our candidates?

A big THANK YOU to everyone who has donated so far!

There is no justification for a country as great as ours.

Speech for Democratic Rally in Abita Springs, LA, Sept. 20, 2008

I want to begin with a story that illustrates the different possible responses to trauma and stress we Democrats are enduring.  It is called "The carrot, egg and coffee bean."

Iowa Primary Today

I just got back from voting for 3rd District Congressman.  My choice this time around was not for the incumbent, but for Ed Fallon.  We need change, and I think Ed can do this, and I hope everyone in District 3 will go and vote and vote for change from what we currently are experiencing from Boswell.

Bob Barr to enter 2008 Presidential Race?

by: drkate

Mon Apr 07, 2008 at 00:45:27 AM EDT

Is this the end of John McCain?  I saw this on Progressive Historians, an interesting site with some of our favorite Brand X bloggers there.

Recently Condoleeza Rice has indicated her interest in being McCain's VP.  If so I think this could "blunt" any newness of Obama or Clinton....a shrewd move, although tying McSame to Bushco even more.

So does Barr become the Ralph Nader of 2008 for the Republicans?

Sunday Leftovers (An Open Thread)

by: Benny

Sun Mar 09, 2008 at 20:22:58 PM EDT

We at EENR have noticed a terrific response to our site.  Many of you, mainly Kossacks or JRE bloggers, have come here seeking a respite, but also a place for your voice--your issues--your ideas--to be seen and heard.    We're glad so far you feel that way in reading all of the individuals who are posting introductions of yourselves.

Sunday nights were always a time of having leftovers in my house growing up.  To a certain extent, that is what I do today.  Leftovers can include items in the refrigerator, in the cupboard that perhaps are almost past prime time, or even left overs from the meals earlier that day.  I find them challenging, but fun to do.

The same is true in looking at leftover comments that are food for thought at EENR.

More after the flip..

Wyoming gets some attention

by: drkate

Fri Mar 07, 2008 at 23:17:11 PM EST

( - promoted by pioneer)

The least-most populated state in the US--Wyoming, with a population of 500,000 and 60,000 registered Democrats, had visits yesterday and today from former President Clinton, Senator Hillary Clinton, and Chelsea, as well as Senator Obama.

This is the first time since 1960 that Wyoming has had so much attention, when its electoral votes for JFK put him over the edge to win the democratic nomination for President.  And its put those 60,000 of us democrats in a very exciting place, even in Wyoming!!!  JFK visited Wyoming many times...some of the oldest bars anywhere have pictures of cowboys with JFK...

I am very glad to start my reporting here at eenrblog.  And in full respect and disclosure, I am first an Edwards Democrat, and will still speak for him at our caucus tomorrow. I will stand with Hillary Clinton in our caucus vote as "many" (i.e., WY) other Wyoming Edwards supporters have(unless John jumps back in, of course), and finally, will support whomever our democratic nominee is.  If I've missed any qualifications of what follows, please feel free to add!

Still hoping that John will come back in so

by: Restore America

Thu Feb 28, 2008 at 02:51:40 AM EST

Lee and I made a petition directed to the Democratic Leadership and Dem Congress to at least try to get his platform adopted as the Democratic Party Platform, and of course "suggesting" that John be on the Democratic Ticket no matter who the candidate is.

Hey, we'll even take a cabinet position, because John Edwards is needed to straighten out this country.

If you want to help by signing the petition and
passing it on, here it is:
