Cute viral ad (3.00 / 3)

Looks like I'm boycotting the Superbowl.

Methane is carbon dioxide on steroids, and global warming is uncapping a methane soda bottle in the subsea Arctic.

hey OKV! lol - i saw that one yesterday! :D (3.00 / 2)
and i'll be turning the TV channel during the commercial, but it's the Saints first Superbowl, and it's history for down here, so i just can't boycott the entire game... but i wish some people at CBS would listen to their own previous policies...

Don't care for football...feel black and blue watching it (3.00 / 2)
but I used to watch the Superbowl to catch the commercials.

One year I lost track and went to the grocery store during the Superbowl. It was great because the aisles were totally empty and you don't have to dodge anyone. Might do the groceries again this year. It takes a long time because I like to check out new products. I also read the fine print on the labels to totally avoid trans fats, added sugar in juice, etc. Very often it thus becomes a window shopping experience.

hey poligirl (3.00 / 2)
It's hard to pick, so I pick Susan Collins whom made an ass out of herself.

I also picked Glenn Beck, just because he was explicitly making fun of retarded kids today & that was pretty offensive the way he did it.

Anyway that's an old school tune. This song and video have been haunting me. I love it and I love the Pixies as you know. The animation is excellent as it's done by the same people who made that Gorillaz video which I will post after.

hey priceman! yeah... it was a tough poll... (3.00 / 2)
so many assholes on the right... all of them were pretty much atrocious this week...

Collins was one of the worst... same with Mitch who echoed the same talking points...

glad you dig the vid! love yours too!

Andrea Mitchell and Rachel Maddow kicked thier ass (3.00 / 2)
surprising about Mitchell, but I guess I have to cut her some slacks even though who she has been married to bothers me, but then again he admitted Ayn Rand is full of shit and that he was for a long time.

There should be zero tolerance for child abuse (3.00 / 1)
http://www.medpagetoday.com/Ps...

Mental illness in adulthood was increasingly likely the more traumas faced in childhood, Ronald C. Kessler, PhD, of Harvard, and colleagues reported in the February issue of the Archives of General Psychiatry.

Childhood difficulties potentially explained 32.4% of all the psychiatric disorders examined, they said, based on analyses of the National Comorbidity Survey Replication.

Adversities relating to family dysfunction -- substance-abusing parents, sexual or physical abuse in the home, neglect, etc. -- appeared to have the strongest link to onset and persistence of psychiatric disorders, they reported.

These findings match folk wisdom and decades of research into the negative effects of child maltreatment, commented John McGrath, MD, PhD, of the Queensland Centre for Mental Health Research in Wacol, Australia, and colleagues in an accompanying editorial.

NPR ombudsperson criticizes its handling of Howard Zinn obit (3.00 / 1)
http://www.npr.org/ombudsman/2...

There's a taboo not to speak ill of the dead. Or if you are going to, then at least be nuanced and even-handed about it.

And that's what hundreds said about a Jan. 28 remembrance of Howard Zinn, the activist historian who died Jan. 27.
